About The Pack & Co.
Treeline Pack Co. is an adventure dog training company based in Anchorage, Alaska built around a simple idea.
Dogs should be able to live real lives alongside their people.
Life in Alaska offers incredible opportunities to explore the outdoors with your dog. From hiking mountain trails to winter sports like canicross and skijoring, dogs can become true partners in adventure when they have the right foundation.
At Treeline Pack Co., we help Anchorage dog owners build reliable dogs who can confidently explore Alaska’s trails, mountains, and backcountry alongside them. Our programs focus on foundational obedience, off leash reliability, relationship building, and real world adventure skills so dogs can safely enjoy an active outdoor life with their people.
Our goal is simple.
Build dogs you can take anywhere.
Our Mission
Treeline Pack Co. exists to help dogs and their people build the skills, trust, and partnership needed to explore Alaska together.
Through thoughtful training, shared adventure, and strong community, we create dogs who are capable, confident, and ready for the trail.
My Story
My journey into dog training started long before Treeline Pack Co.
Back in 2010, I acquired a Rottweiler puppy from a backyard breeder who struggled with significant temperament challenges that developed over the first 2 years together. At the time I had no formal training background; I simply had a dog who clearly needed more support than I knew how to provide.
That experience pushed me to learn everything I could about dog training.
Over the years I worked with a wide range of trainers, explored different training systems, and spent countless hours studying how dogs think, communicate, and learn. One lesson became clear quickly. Many behavioral issues improve dramatically when dogs are given structure, clarity, and meaningful outlets for their instincts.
For my dog, that outlet was getting outside.
Long hikes in the woods provided more fulfillment than any enrichment toy or indoor game ever could. That realization shaped the way I approach dog training today.
Dogs were built to move, explore, and work alongside humans. Training should support that partnership.
Training Philosophy
Training at Treeline Pack Co. is built on three core ideas.
Partnership. Adventure. Community.
Reliable obedience does not come from commands alone. It comes from a strong relationship between dog and handler. Dogs who trust and enjoy working with their owners learn faster, perform more reliably, and experience greater fulfillment in their daily lives.
That relationship is built through a balance of structure, play, training, and shared experiences.
We spend time building engagement through play, developing motivation, and helping owners learn how to communicate clearly with their dogs. Adventures, exploration, and outdoor activity become part of the training process because they strengthen the partnership between dog and handler.
Our approach draws from modern balanced training systems and is heavily influenced by the NePoPo® methodology, which emphasizes clarity, motivation, and accountability in the learning process.
Training programs focus on:
clear marker communication
structured leash work
reliable recall
off leash communication
environmental neutrality
confidence in real world environments
relationship building through play and engagement
Treeline Pack Co. places a strong emphasis on preparing dogs for real outdoor partnership, including activities like hiking, canicross, and skijoring.
These sports require more than enthusiasm. They require communication, impulse control, and trust between dog and handler. Our training builds the foundation that allows dogs to safely and confidently participate in these activities.
For many dogs, especially working breeds and high drive companions, true fulfillment comes from having a job and exploring the world alongside their handler.
Experience and Credentials
Cat is an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator and a FitDogs instructor, and has spent years studying and practicing dog training across multiple disciplines.
She has completed training internships and worked under several professional trainers, including Blue Phantom Dog Training in Utah, gaining hands on experience with working dogs, obedience training, and behavior work.
In addition to formal training experience, Cat has spent more than 15 years working with rescue dogs, fostering more than 50 dogs from shelters and rescue organizations.
Working with such a wide variety of dogs has shaped a practical training approach built around helping dogs succeed in real homes and real environments.
Today Treeline Pack Co. focuses on helping Anchorage and Southcentral Alaska dog owners build the skills needed for reliable obedience, off leash control, and safe adventure with their dogs.
The Pack
Treeline Pack Co. is shaped by the dogs who train alongside Cat every day.
The current pack includes Meatball, a rescue American Bully originally from Alabama who now spends his days hiking Alaska’s trails and proving that adventure dogs come in all shapes and sizes.
Alongside him are two working beaucerons who train and compete in multiple disciplines including scent work, herding, and IGP.
But titles and sport work are only part of the picture.
First and foremost, they are adventure dogs.
They hike Alaska’s trails, travel into the mountains, and regularly train in outdoor sports including canicross and skijoring. These activities are not just training exercises. They are part of daily life and a major inspiration behind the mission of Treeline Pack Co.
The Pack Behind Pack Co.
The name Treeline Pack Co. reflects something that is deeply important to this work. Community.
Dogs are social animals, and training is not meant to exist in isolation. The strongest dog and handler teams are built within a community of people who care about responsible training, healthy dogs, and shared adventure.
Treeline Pack Co. is not just about individual training sessions. It is about building a pack of dog owners in Anchorage who value structure, adventure, and partnership with their dogs.
Park of the Treeline Pack Co, is a local training meetup group where owners work their dogs together, practice obedience and engagement skills, and support one another in the training process. Ask us about joining!
The Pack Co. also offers pack walks, group hikes, and outdoor training events across Anchorage and Southcentral Alaska.
Because strong dogs are built through good training.
But great dogs are built through training, adventure, and community.
From Recall to Ridgeline
Treeline Pack Co. exists to help Anchorage dog owners build dogs who are capable, confident, and ready to experience Alaska alongside them.
Because the best adventures are the ones you share.
