New to scent work? This four week course introduces your dog to the foundations of scent detection sport, no prior experience needed.
Over four one hour sessions, your dog is introduced to their first target odor and learns the game that makes scent work so rewarding: find it, get paid. We cover search theory, how to read your dog's natural alert behavior, and how to build drive and confidence in a search. Every dog gets a minimum of two searches per session, so there's plenty of hands on time, not just watching from the sidelines.
Classes are kept small and led by experienced instructors, so you'll get real feedback on your handling, not just a demo. By the end of 101, you and your dog will have a solid foundation in odor recognition and be ready to move on to more complex searches.
Format: 4 weeks, 1 hour sessions, minimum 2 searches per dog per class
